Student license
This section of the training involves tandem flights,
solo flights and a theory exam. The Student will be placed in control
of the tandem glider, whilst the instructor retains overall control
until they have enough knowledge and self confidence to fly solo.
Following this they will perform a minimum of six solo flights and
be assisted in completing the NZHGPA requirements. A minimum average
time requirement of 3 flyable days is necessarily to successfully
complete the PG 1 License.

PG 2 License |
Full License
Completing the PG1 course students can progress through the PG2
course to obtain a full paragliding rating. During this stage they
will receive more tandem flights and complete the minimum of 50
solo flights for the NZHGPA requirements and be assisted with the
theory exams. An average of 14 flyable days is common for successfully
gaining a PG 2 license.

SIV Course
Students will perform 4 flights during which they will be led through
a series of manoeuvres, and the recovery from these manoeuvres.
This will include full stalls,, steep spirals, negative spins, wingovers,
B line stalls, A line stalls and an optional reserve deployment
flight for free. All manoeuvres are carried out over water with
life jackets and rescue boat.
Flights are by boat tow to 2000 feet approx. A fully flyable day
is necessarily for this course.
